Strengthening Partnerships, Transforming Lives

The most meaningful partnerships are measured in the lives they touch.

That spirit was reflected when the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) welcomed the leadership of Mbagathi County Referral Hospital for a courtesy visit to reaffirm a partnership that has, over the years, grown into a shared commitment to improving the lives of the communities the hospital serves.

Leading the Mbagathi delegation was the Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Alexander Irungu, PhD, who met with KDIC Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Hellen Chepkwony to express appreciation for the Corporation’s continued support through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and philanthropic initiatives.

Dr. Irungu was accompanied by Dr. Pius Kinuthia, Head of Pharmacy, and Dr. Beatrice Mwangi, Deputy Medical Superintendent, ENT. Representing KDIC alongside the CEO were David Irungu, Director, Bank Resolution and Chairperson of the CSR Committee, and Everlyne Silong, Senior Communications Officer.

Over the years, KDIC’s partnership with Mbagathi Hospital has been about responding to real needs and making a tangible difference where it matters most.

Through the Corporation’s interventions, the partnership has contributed to strengthening maternal and newborn care, creating better working conditions for frontline healthcare workers, and supporting an environment where mothers can receive quality care and newborns can get a healthier start to life.

For the healthcare teams at Mbagathi, these interventions have helped create a better environment in which doctors, nurses and other frontline workers can carry out their calling with greater efficiency. For mothers and newborns, they have represented something even more fundamental: care, hope and a better beginning.

The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to reflect on the journey they have taken together and to look ahead. The two leadership teams reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing the partnership and exploring new opportunities to support Mbagathi Hospital and the wider community that depends on its services.

As the partnership continues, one thing remains at its heart: when institutions come together with a shared purpose, even a single act of support can touch many lives.
